Can you provide us some more detailed Information, please? When does the error occur / what are you doing, which Version of SQL Server are you using and so on ..

Hi,

When we encounter errors during the installation of SQL Server, we can check the summary and detail logs for analysis, by default, the logs can be found in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log.

According to your error message, it seems that your account doesnt have sufficient permissions to modify the registry when installing SQL Server. Thus please make sure that you choose Run as administrator to run the setup file, and ensure that your account has full control permissions on the \SOFTWARE registry.
